How does Seaworld deal with this?
Whales defecate right? of course they do! they're mammals!
My question is, how does Seaworld deal with this? I mean, they've got the big huge whale tank with glass walls and lots of parents and kids that watch the whales swim around. Surely every once in a while there's a great roar of whale agony, a great wash of whale-fart bubbles and one of the whales is now surrounded by a gigantic brown cloud.
"Mommy, what happened?" "uh, Shamu just s--t the tank."
Now this has to traumatize kids, so how does Seaworld deal with this? Do they litter-train the whales to go to an obscure part of the tank and do their business there, jam a giant cork in the whale's arse or what?
No, the whales just go in the water. I've seen this personally as one of the whales just let a huge one go in the tank while it was swimming around. This wasn't during the show, but there is a tank behind the stadium where you can see into the Tank Underwater. There were lots of kids around, including my own, and they all saw it. It doesn't traumatize kids, as poop is an everyday occurrence in little kids' lives. The important thing is that the tank has a good filter system to keep the water clean. Actually, all the kids there enjoyed the extra show!
