Bubble WAND better than Air Stone?
I have an air stone (a small cheap 99 cent one) that i have hooked up to a 10 gallon air pump... however the problem with it is that it makes so many bubbles that if i put it at the bottom of the tank where it looks best it creates a lot of current because there are so many bubbles rushing out of one spot... the fish hate it like that. So at the moment i just have it near the surface where it creates no current, but still adds some airation to the tank. I'm wondering if a bubble wand or something else like that will solve this problem so i can put it back on the bottom. I'm thinking this will like spread the bubbles out a bit and there will be less in one spot and littler ones so it doesn't make a current.
You have a filter, yes? If so, you don't need either. The agitation from the filter's output hitting the water provides all the oxygen your fish need.
Bubble stones or wands are really just decorative. They don't do much in the way of oxygenation. If you like the look, you could tray a wand, placed at the very back of the tank. My guess though, is that in such a small body of water, you're going to get too much current from either.
