HOW do you avoid stem rot

I have a heavy planted 10g tank with lots of stem plants I have a DIY CO2, no ferts just occasional seachem florish and no stem rot at all. With you set up you will be fine, maybe an algae break out sometimes. Stem rot happens when there is not enough light
uneaten food that rots at the base and causes stems to rot, you got unhealthy plants that already might have some stem rot.
So if you take good care of your tank and have fish with some snails like ramshorn(they do not eat plants, only old leaves and rotting matter, algae) so you have nice ecosystem you should not experience any stem rot.
